Marriage Certificates

Death Certificates

In the UK, anyone who passes away must have an official death certificate written out. Included on the certificate are a number of personal details about the deceased as well as information about the time and cause of death itself.

Personal details required that can be found on death certificates include the first and last name of the deceased, their age, occupation, whether they were male or female and the their signature – this will sometimes be marked with an X. Also required are details of where and when the death occurred, the entry number in the death register, the year the death was registered and also the cause of death. Just as important as marriage certificates.

What is on a death certificate?

Death certificates also require the signature of the registrar and also the superintendent if the death is registered over a year late. The initials of the person who produced the certificate are also required. As with other official certificates, these can be replaced if lost or damaged, but a standard fee will be incurred.
